I draw portraits, traditional fine arts ones, in graphite pencil. Is something I've been doing for the last 4 years, and I love to do it, even if it is not my major focus as an artist as my whimsy soul keeps leaning towards children illustration mostly.
But sometimes I get in this serious mode of drawing a portrait. It's a super quiet and focused moment, ok, it needs several days and moments, but the state of mind and heart is the same.
So, here's a pic of me back two years ago I think, drawing a portrait of a man my dad loves, Jiddu Krishnamurti for example.
I've drawn a lot so far, and of course I have some favorites among them all.
I did this year (2017) one portrait of Johnny Cash, I've been listening to some of his songs, and reading some of his quotes, and I'm loving this man.
Anyway, this particular portrait of Johnny Cash I've made, had for me a very strong sense of aliveness in it. Intense, like if he was just right there.
I'm particularly happy someone fall in love with it too and just bought it. The original. Thank you so much Julie P., my heart goes inthere too :)
I usually post some of my portrait original drawings for sale on my Etsy Shop.
