I've started this Weekly Painting Challenge, few weeks ago, with my personal goal of improving my skills in landscape painting and strengthen my painting voice.
Practice makes perfect ;)
The idea is that I post in a Twitter account I created specially to make art challenges I wanna do in a way of growing up as an artist. Anyone is welcome to join me, in fact I'd love that to happen as it would be like being in a group working all together and get to see the fantastically different approaches of others for the same subject :D
So, every Friday I post a photograph or an old master's painting, and in this case, you'll try to do artwork based/inspired on it, trying to finish your piece in ONE HOUR and then we all post together on the next Tuesday.
The only one hour was intentionally made, it forces me to not think too much, and practice my confidence while my own voice emerges in my artworks. Plus I feel the mistakes I make are too obvious as I don't have too much time and then, I can think deeply about them for future works haha.
How to Join in
1. Follow @CatruChallenges in Twitter
2. Every Friday, a new landscape image will be posted there
3. Do your artwork based/inspired on that image, trying to finish it in ONE hour if possible.
3. That Tuesday, post your artwork using hastag #1hrLandscapeChallenge and tag @CatruChallenges (so I can notice and find your work and retweet it there)
I'm using mostly images I've found in Internet from pixabay, or from old masters paintings. I've checked we can use them for personal purposes for sure.
I hope you'll join me! Fun! :D
